Literary Hill BookFest (We're Going!)

Hello and welcome to spring! The Gorilla is happy to announce we will be participating in the 2016 version of the Literary Hill Bookfest. Authors Scott Sowers and John Vartoukian will be behind the table selling and signing editions of “Life and Death at the Dog Park,” and “The Adventures of Sarkis and Hagop.”

They will be joining over 30 other talented writers including some of our personal favorites, Chuck McCutcheon and Valerie Rind. Featured Exhibitors include Capitol Hill Books – one of the Gorilla’s favorite used bookstores.

The event will be held in the North Hall of the historic Eastern Market on Sunday May 1 from 11 AM to 4 PM, so after buying some books you can shop for fine meats and cheeses. The Literary Hill BookFest began as a way of turning the Literary Hill column that Karen Lyon writes for the Hill Rag into a live event. Karen’s column showcases local writers and, after more than a decade of monthly columns, it was clear that Capitol Hill seems to have an almost limitless supply. What if we could bring together some of these authors who live on or write about Capitol Hill to meet their readers, as well as each other? Turns out they can and they do - every year...
